Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Director to lead one of our early childhood education centers in the Bronx, NY. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the operational, educational, and community-facing success of the center — including staff development, regulatory compliance, family engagement, and enrollment growth.

The Education Director will work hand-in-hand with teachers, families, licensing authorities, and corporate partners to build a thriving learning environment where children can grow, play, and discover. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in early childhood education, proven leadership experience, and the business acumen to grow the center’s presence within the local community.

Key Requirements
  • NYS Certification for Early Childhood Education (Birth to Grade 2) — required.
  • Student Building Leadership or Student District Leadership Certification — preferred.
  • Proven experience in early childhood center leadership, school administration, or comparable management role.
  • Familiarity with The Creative Curriculum, ECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale), and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
  • Strong knowledge of NYS Department of Education and NYC DOHMH licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships with families and staff.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities with experience managing competing priorities.
  • Business, sales, and marketing acumen to support enrollment growth and community presence.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to Bronx, NY 10456 prior to start date (required).
Role Responsibilities
  • Lead overall center operations, ensuring high-quality early childhood education, safety, and compliance.
  • Drive enrollment growth by leveraging business, sales, and marketing strategies to strengthen the center’s presence in the community.
  • Hire, develop, and retain a “Best In Class” team of educators and support staff.
  • Supervise the full center team including the Office Manager, Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Family Workers, Janitorial Staff, and Cook.
  • Ensure full compliance with all state and local licensing regulations, including DOE, DOHMH, and applicable agency standards.
  • Work directly with teachers to ensure classrooms are safe, attractive, age-appropriate, and developmentally aligned.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, community organizations, state licensing authorities, and corporate partners.
  • Familiarize parents with school policies, lead orientation for new families, and maintain consistent communication channels.
  • Support parents in planning, facilitating, and coordinating services for children with disabilities or behavioral needs.
  • Oversee program administration, scheduling, budgeting, and staffing planning.
  • Monitor curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with The Creative Curriculum, ECERS, and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
  • Lead staff meetings, professional development sessions, and performance evaluations.
